Someone writes a poem, a quote or a witty one-liner.
They post it.
Everyone ignores it.
They write the same thing again, only this time they place the poem or saying over a photograph, turn it into a fancy word-art collage, or in some other way “visualise” the words.
They post it.
It’s reblogged and marked as “favorite” thousands of times.
I’m all for the visual arts, but I feel people have lost the sense of wonder and beauty to be found in words.
I’ve noticed that too. I get more attention for pretty pictures than for anything wordy, though this quote about sexuality got quite a lot of reblogs & likes out of the blue.
